Steve Watson is used to delivering lessons to students about liaising with the emergency services as part of the Public Services course at South Essex College’s Basildon Campus.
Even he must have been surprised though to find himself speaking to the ambulance services and safely delivering his daughter after his wife’s midwife was stuck in snow.
Remaining calm in such a situation is all part and parcel of the course that Steve teaches, which helps prepare students for roles across the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services, but also the Prison Service, HM Customs and Excise, the Armed Forces, community service and other emergency service related organisations.
Steve's story was featured extinsively locally, including local televison, and the Daily Mail.
