A new fast-track Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Level 5 Diploma course, enabling aspiring human resource or development managers to enhance their career opportunities significantly, has been introduced for 2011. The CIPD Associate level membership, offered by the Goldsmith Centre for Business in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, from January, concertinas a one-year syllabus into six months of intensive study, and will be delivered by CIPD Chartered Member Helen Robinson.
Helen Robinson explains: “Course members will build expertise in their chosen HR specialist subjects, whilst also developing their planning, analytical, and problem solving skills. They will also have the opportunity to achieve a degree-level qualification and establish the foundations that are vital in progressing to achieving the Level 7 qualification which leads to Chartered status.”
The course consists of four optional modules encompassing employment law, resourcing and talent management, organisational design and development, and managing human resources functions. It will involve a total of 220 hours formal study over a six month period, with the stipulation that students undertake a weekly minimum of six hours independent study.
Completion of the programme will lead to associate membership level of the CIPD, and progression to the Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management, or in Human Resource Development.
