The connected world we live in is having a profound impact on traditional teaching methods with education establishments increasingly deploying 1:1 and BYOD policies. At BETT 2016, Crestron will be demonstrating how its solutions inspire students and create an educational experience that goes beyond the interactive panel.
Visitors to Crestron’s stand C404 will be shown how laptops and smart devices have taken over from the traditional use of pen and paper transforming students from passive listeners to active participants and appealing to today’s tech-savvy generation.
Simple effective wireless connectivity
Crestron solutions create new opportunities for students and instructors alike to collaborate. Using Crestron’s AirMedia® Presentation gateway, multiple students can connect wirelessly and present their findings to the whole class using whatever source or format they choose - whether it is a PowerPoint®, Excel®, Word, PDF or showing images from their personal smart device - without any wires to connect to.
Making the most of 4K
Whilst the 4K Ultra HD revolution is on its way, there is little 4K content at present. However many devices now being used are referred to as ‘tweeners’ – they fall between 1080p resolution and 4K. But with many education establishments still using 1080p resolution some of the imagery and text that has been prepared on a higher resolution device might not appear on the screen – losing much of the impact of the lesson/lecture. Crestron solves this dilemma with its award winning Crestron DigitalMedia™ switcher that ensures an optimal image from every video source on practically any display device. It allows SD, HD and all types of computer sources to look their best on Ultra HD and 4K displays and it allows sources with resolutions above HD 1080p to be viewed reliably on 1080p and lower resolution displays.
.AV Framework™ Platform
Collaborative learning is changing the way we teach and learn but providing such an
environment requires a different approach to learning spaces. That is why Crestron has developed the .AV Framework platform - the core of the collaborative space. Easy to deploy, manage, and maintain, every device in every room is connected to and visible on a managed network. There are no "blind spots," which ensures a consistent user experience and maximum uptime - vital in today’s connected learning environment.
Crestrons’ solutions enable lecturers and teachers to do what they do best – teach. Using the Crestron touch screen, they no longer have to worry about what plugs in where. At the touch of a button, they can adjust sound levels when necessary and enhance the learning environment by controlling the audio, lighting, HVAC and other systems in the room. The Crestron DM switcher connects all of the student inputs to all of the displays.
Realise energy efficiencies
Underpinning these solutions is Crestron’s Fusion® energy management software that analyses asset management and energy consumption – helping to reduce your carbon footprint. It even saves energy by automatically turning off lights and reducing HVAC use in unoccupied spaces. Real-time auto-alerts are sent when devices fail, enabling them to be proactively serviced, thus ensuring maximum uptime and productivity
