Cumbria Intelligence Observatory renews their contract for Labour/Insight for 2015

We are delighted to announce that Cumbria Intelligence Observatory has renewed their license of Labour/Insight for 2015. Cumbria Intelligence Observatory has been using Labour/Insight since 2013. The aim of the Observatory is to bring together high quality research, information and intelligence on a wide range of themes including the economy, demographics and skills.  A variety of partners are involved including the County Council (which leads the Observatory), the Local Enterprise Partnership, district councils, colleges, the police and the health authority to name but a few and resources are made available to businesses, the public, elected members, schools and other organisations via the website or directly.

Labour/Insight is one of the key data tools the Observatory uses for its work on the local labour market.  Monthly briefings are circulated to a wide audience which include analysis of sector and occupation trends, as well as skills demand and identification of employers that are active in the labour market.  Data from Labour/Insight also form an integral part of the suite of evidence underpinning the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Strategic Economic Plan, European Structural & Investment Funds Strategy and Skills Plan.

Ginny Murphy from the Cumbria Intelligence Observatory says “Cumbria stands on the brink of major economic opportunities through its potential for advanced manufacturing growth, nuclear and energy excellence, a vibrant rural and visitor economy and the strategic connectivity of the M6 corridor.  It is essential to have a thorough understanding of skills supply and demand in order to support these developments and tools such as Labour/Insight play a key role in that.”
