College works with Momentum to recognise its high Customer Service promise

 

 

Sussex Downs College is proud to be working with Momentum Services Ltd, who provide Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train operator which links the UK and the continent, with a full on board and business lounge service in London, Paris and Brussels.

 

The College has been supporting staff to gain their NVQ certificates in customer service and team leading with the first cohort of 21 members recently receiving their certificates at a special presentation held at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel forming part of St Pancras International station.

 

Sophie Barlow Head of Operations at Momentum said: “Working with Sussex Downs College has been a fabulous experience. The assessors have delivered all the training in the workplace and have been very patient and flexible to fit in with our staffing rosters, quite often arriving early and staying late. Their support and guidance has helped our staff achieve their goals and has contributed to our staff training development programme in a unique way.

 

“The second cohort is well on their way to also completing their certificates which has once again been achieved in a timely and expert manner by the College.”

 

The presentation to those gaining their certificates was made by David Cheeseman, Executive Director at Momentum, who congratulated the team by saying: “We are proud at Momentum for what we stand for. We have a positive attitude towards people and their development, we nurture a learning culture and my dream is that one day a member of cabin crew will work through the organisation and become managing director. Please continue to want to learn and take every opportunity to progress with us.”

 

Fran Ludford, NVQ Training and Development Leader at Sussex Downs College said: “Working with Momentum is showing how we can meet employer’s needs, large and small and deliver according to learners and employers requirements. With a dedicated team of work based competent assessors these needs can be met, as shown with the success of this first cohort. Going forward with Momentum we are looking forward to continuous success for their staff and the company.”

 

The event was also attended by Gary Tovey, Customer Development Manager at Education Development International (EDI) who are the awarding body for the customer service qualifications.
