The staff of Barry College’s Childcare Centre donned their royal blue Kidney Wales T-shirts last weekend and completed the annual Barry Walk for Life, raising more than £1,000.
Centre Manager Debbie Baker organised this year’s Barry Walk for Life, which raises money for the Kidney Wales Foundation. She dedicated it to her son Lloyd who died in 2007 after battling a rare illness which led to kidney failure.
Childcare Centre staff past and present took part in the walk, as did former and current nursery children from the Centre.
“The morning had a carnival feel about it and lots of groups of people went to have lunch or a belated breakfast together afterwards, but as with all charity events the aim of the day was to raise money and in this we did not fail either,” Debbie said. “Well over £1,000 was raised and I offer my sincere thanks to everyone who supported the event either with your presence or your presents.”
