New Academy Boosts Vital Skills

Derby College are launching one of the first Careers Academies in the East Midlands and leading the way in boosting construction and civil engineering skills which will be vital to the economy’s future recovery.

Show Gold for Broomfield Hall

Floristry students at Derby College’s Broomfield Hall have clinched a coveted Gold medal for the 6th year running at Derbyshire County Show.

The students created an Alice in Wonderland scene with the plants and flowers enhanced by a number of props – from metal flowers to playing cards – all made from scratch at the College.

Gold for Derby College Student

Derby College nail technician student Jessica Wesson has clinched a coveted Gold medal in the World Skills UK finals, held for the first time at The Roundhouse on Pride Park.

Jessica (20) from Littleover competed against other World Skills UK finalist from other colleges throughout the UK – demonstrating her nail enhancement skills to a panel of industry experts.
