Highbury student outshines rivals at WorldSkills UK regional beauty competition

A budding beauty therapist from Highbury College Portsmouth took home the gold in a WorldSkills UK South East competition.

Plaque Visit

The great great nephew of the famous architect of The Roundhouse and other landmark railway buildings will visit Derby College on Tuesday May 4 to unveil a plaque in his ancestor’s memory.



Mr David White will tour The Roundhouse and surrounding buildings – which is now the College’s iconic £48 million vocational campus – and then unveil the specially-commissioned plaque.

Learning IT SKills Helps Visually Impaired Man Restore Confidence

Steve Shepherd, aged 57, from Nottingham, has found learning IT skills has helped him cope better with losing his sight. His dedication and commitment to learning is being recognised with a Regional Senior Learner Award as part of Adult Learners’ Week 15 - 21 May 2010.

Union Learning Agreements Signed

Derby College has joined forces with the Communications Workers Union and the United Road Transport Union in two separate agreements to provide essential skills training for their members.

College Nursery Establishes Forest Roots
