Bid For National Skills Academy For Travel And Tourism

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has confirmed that it has not selected the bid for a National Skills Academy for the Travel & Tourism industry to go forward to the next stage.

Minister Visits Barnfield College

Apprentices Minister Iain Wright has paid his first official visit to Barnfield College as part of Apprenticeship Week.

The week was marked by conferences, seminars, receptions and other events across the country to recognise the importance of apprenticeships.

Last year saw the start of the Barnfield Apprenticeship Academy Scheme (BAAS), the first in the country, under which 23 public sector apprentices were employed in Luton including 12 at the College.

SEEVIC College overcomes LSC funding debacle to secure island Skills Centre

Pioneering Academy Launched

A pioneering Apprenticeship Academy has been launched at Barnfield College Luton by two Government ministers.

The Barnfield Apprenticeship Academy, believed to be the first in the country, is aimed at creating hundreds of new apprenticeships in Luton and surrounding areas.
