West End star puts students in the spotlight

When you only get one shot to impress, a polished performance and nerves of steel are key ingredients for a successful audition.  With this in mind, Musical Theatre students at Coleg Gwent were thrilled when West End Star Caroline Sheen shared some of her show business experience with the budding performers.

Plumbers take the plunge

Getting to grips with water is all in a day’s work for Coleg Gwent plumbing students, but it doesn't usually involve caves, rocks and the tide.  The group downed tools to tackle a different sort of challenge when they headed to the coast in Swansea.

The Level 2 students, based at Ebbw Vale Campus, took part in a coasteering teambuilding activity at the Mumbles organised by the Campus’s Public Services department.

Hi Hannah
Welcome to FE Community.
What is your specialism in Further Education and Skills?
FE Community is the social network for the FE, Skills and Employability sector – brought to you be www.FEnews.co.uk and www.FEcareers.co.uk
On FE Community you can network with other FE professionals, add forums and discuss hot topics in the sector, add Press Releases and Event information for inclusion on FE Community and FE News. You can even add your own embedded videos on your ‘My Page’
You can now also integrate your FE Community activity with your Facebook wall or Twitter (if you have an account with either Facebook or Twitter). Here is a link explaining how you can do this: http://fecommunity.ning.com/profiles/blogs/did-you-know-that-you-can-now
It is really easy and it has saved me loads of time keeping everything up to date, so hopefully it will do the same for you too!
We also recommend that you update your Settings, particularly your Privacy settings so as you can approve all messages before they appear on your ‘My Page’. To do this, please click on the Privacy tab on the right hand column on FE Community and click on the Privacy tab (in settings you can also change the appearance of your page and select a photo etc).
FE Community is a great way to network and share best practice – but please do be vigilant with your personal data and always be cautious about your personal safety –
– do not share any passwords or bank details with anyone across the community – we would never ask for it – so no one else should have any need for this info either! We recommend that you make new friends and connections on FE Community – but be sensible about meeting up or sharing personal data.
Kind Regards
Gavin
