College to build a new construction centre on campus

Swindon College has received planning permission to build a new Construction Centre of over 1,000 square metres on its campus at North Star Avenue.

The new centre, which will be ready for September 2013, will be used for teaching brickwork, plastering and tiling courses which are currently delivered off site in facilities at Kembrey Park meaning that students will be able to better access support services and other on-campus facilities. Swindon College students work with Wildcats!

Learners from Swindon College have had the fantastic opportunity to work with the Swindon Wildcats, local Ice Hockey Team, as part of their course unit “Working to a brief in Media industries.”

The 22 students will be involved in filming the Wildcats on match days, producing video content for their website along with the player profiles and video clips for the big screen on match days.
